Quinta das Figueiras
Lovely south facing 2.4 hectare smallholding with fabulous panoramic
Photo Album for this property. summary pdf Quinta das Figueiras is a pretty 2.4 hectare (6 acres) smallholding with fabulous panoramic far reaching views situated 2.5 km from the typical village of Vale de Prazeres where there are some small shops, bar / cafés, chemist and kinder garden, and a 10 minute car drive from the market town of Fundão. The beautiful granite built village of Alpedrinha is only a few minutes away and between the two villages is a public swimming pool fed by natural water sources from the Serra da Gardunha. This area is well known for its micro climate, its good spring water supplies, its beauty and fertility, where fruit grows in absolute abundance. The access to the smallholding is good and there are no neighbours. The cottage is made of stone and is completely solid, has electricity connected and has a footprint of 78 m². The roof is good and the floor is cement. The interior needs to be renovated. On one side is a brick built store and on the other is a chicken coup and a good original stone built baking oven, and there is plenty of parking space right next to the cottage. Directly to the front is a nice sitting area shaded by grape vines growing over a pergola, it makes a lovely place to sit looking out across the landscape. There is also an irrigation tank that can be filled from the endless crystal clear spring water supply from the borehole. The tank can also be used as a great place to have a splash in to cool down on a hot summer's day. Next to the water tank is another very nice shaded area with olive trees and behind them are some São João fig trees producing a large crop of huge figs some 10 cm long. The smallholding has around 50 good olive trees of the Galega variety, easily providing an ample supply of olive oil. There is a small stone ruin and there are various little fields and terraces, a couple of which were mainly used for the vegetable growing, others are planted with olive trees, another with young cherry trees, there are some grape vines, orange trees, peach, and a deliciously fruiting black mulberry tree. The whole land is currently being cleaned, with the tall summer grass being cut and bush being trimmed. A very pretty and affordable smallholding with fruit, olives, endless spring water, a bit of renovation needed but will make a great place to live, work, grow and enjoy life!
